HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE DAVIT
BAGRATIONI MUKHRAN BATONISHVILLI
OF GEORGIA ON OCCASION OF THE
PATRON SAINT DAY OF THE CENTER
Your Royal Highnesses,
Very Reverend Fathers,
Beloved Brothers and Sisters in The Risen Lord,
It is Our profound honor to be able to extend the full support of The Royal House of Georgia for your Christ-lovig and noble enterprise, that has assembled all of you in this Holy Faculty on this glorious occasion.
We are especially happy and grateful that His Holiness, K.k. Irinej, Archbishop of Pech, Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovtzi and Serbian Patriarch, Grand Collar of Our Dynastic Order of the Eagle of Georgia and the Seamless Tunic of Our Lord Jesus Christ, has bestowed his Most Holy Patriarchal blessing for our involvement in this celebration, granting us the unique opportunity to became a part of the great Church and State commemoration of The Edict of Milan, and it's 1700. anniversary!
The great Jubilee of the famous Edict of Milan, is one of the cornerstones of this entire year, uniting in prayerful unity all of the Christendom worldwide, and in the centre of this unity is brotherly Serbia, a land that We have grown to love and profoundly respect over the years as a country that has so much in common with Our beloved Georgia, and as the place of birth of the first Christian Emperor, Saint Emperor Constantine The Great Equal to The Apostles.
The importance of The Edict of Milan and the importance of the achievements of Saint Emperor Constantine are beyond Our modest comprehension, as they are the very foundation of our civilisation, and have lost nothing of their importance over the last 1700 years.
This is the legacy not only of Serbia and Orthodoxy as a whole, but of the entire Ecumene, and therefore, We join in your spiritual joy and celebration, regretting the fact that We are not in a position to be able to participate in this important feast in person. But rest assured, that We are with all of you in spirit, sharing the same Faith, Hope and Love.
It is, also, Our immence spiritual joy that you have decided to mark another important Jubilee that coincides with the Jubilee of The Edict of Milan.
The Jubilee of the 800 years of the blessed repose of Saint Queen Tamar, our great and Holy Ancestor, has been announced by The Georgian Orthodox Church, and this year has been declared as the year of Saint Queen Tamar by His Holiness and Beatitude, K.k. Ilia II, Archbishop of Mtskheta–Tbilisi, Metropolitan of Abkhazia and Pitsunda and Catholicos–Patriarch of All Georgia.
All of the mentioned above could and, indeed, should help us to build our future stronger and much more fruitfull relations for the benefit of our sister Churches, our Royal Houses and our Nations.
